M2 dominates 505 2008 Worlds

Once again, Super Spars M2 masts dominated at the recent 2008 505 Worlds held at Club Canottieri Roggero di Lauria, Mondello, Sicily.

The regatta was sailed mainly in extremely light winds with whole days lost to no wind. Only one race was sailed in wind strong enough to require trapezing, while the rest of the time there was hardly enough to really power up the main sail. Local reports say the racing was at time "slow" and "excrutiating".

Congratulations to UK's Ian Pinnell/Carl Gibbon using a Selden rig who managed to come out on top in what could be described as a bit of a lottery of a regatta.

Howie Hamlin (USA) on 2nd for the 7th time and former muliple world champion Wolfgang Hunger (Germany) finished in 3rd place respectively, both teams using Super Spars M2 masts.

A further 10 teams were using Super Spars M2 rigs in the leading 15 making a total of 80% of the top 15. Well done all.
